Activities in the Wilderness

Enjoy time away from civilization. Sit and read a book, take in the view, or go for a walk on our numerous trails. Amazing vistas provide a beautiful place to take photos. Sit quietly and listen to the sound of life around you. Take a bath or a swim to the many rocks or islands on the lake. Lounge in our hammock and listen to the loons, swans, eagles, and more. Take a row in our rowboat, or hike to the Tokasitna River and walk the beach. Birds' song, wind blowing, even the buzzing of insects restores your connection to the natural world. Every day brings a new surprise and opportunity to observe the incredibly lush wildlife at Denali Earth.
Summer - In early summer, you can pick fiddle-head ferns as a addition to your meal. In late summer enjoy high-bush blueberries (huckleberries), low bush blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, rose-hips, salmon berries, watermelon berries, and more.
River rafting is also a wonderful way to return to civilization by way of the Tokasitna and Chulitna rivers.
Winter - Denali Earth lies close to the foot of the Ruth Glacier. This provides access for dog sledding or backcountry skiing trips into the Alaskan wilderness. We have warm cabins for you, and plenty of space for your dog teams.
Contact us if interested in setting up dog mushing tours with Iditarod dog sled teams, or for cross country skiing trips. The winter is an amazing time to visit, as you can travel around our area with much more ease.
